Travel Inspiration
It was the first time that I had been abroad to another country, Canada on 20th July, 2018. We were excited and curious because we wanted to see the differences between Canada and China. On that same day, enthusiastic students from Columbia International College of Canada met us at the airport, which made us quickly adapt to the communication with foreigners.
In Canada, we went to a great many places of interest, toured the Toronto CN Tower, overlooked the city from the high tower and visited the magnificent Parliament Hill.
In the north of Canada, it snows for the most part of the year. Thus, houses with flat roofs will collapse due to heavy snow, so the roofs are all pointed triangles and no one lives there in cold weather conditions. I also found that Canadians lived in separate villas, each with a garage in it.
During this overseas study tour, we played a lot of projects at Bark Lake such as high ropes and rowing boats by ourselves. Frankly, it required a lot of arm strength and perseverance for us to reach the finish line when we rowed boats. In spite of the water supply and power cut, we slept soundly. During our stay here, Alex, David, Braken and I became good friends. They were staff here. Though I couldn’t quite catch what they said and neither could they get what I meant, we were willing to listen to each other and make friends with each other. The mutual help impressed me a lot.
After seeing so much beautiful scenery and playing a great many projects, we arrived at the glamorous Columbia International College of Canada where we learnt various courses such as the cooking class, art class, PE class, English class and so on. I found out that teachers here were quite resourceful at teaching in that they brought the students into the happy classroom and let them unconsciously grasp the knowledge imparted by the teachers. On the other hand, if the students could not adapt to this teaching method, teachers would try all kinds of ways to let them integrate in the classroom and interact with them, which I quite agreed upon and enjoyed in the meantime.
Finally, we left here with nostalgia for Canada and the expectation of returning again. Boarding the plane, we flew back to China and reached our cozy homes. We felt quite happy and fulfilled during this study tour in Canada.
